The global disc: virtual promotion for musicians

Just to give you an overview of my promotional activities:

I am currently marketing Canadian musicians towards the German market in my radio show (podcast) "BarKanada", airing every second Saturday of the month on Radio Tonkuhle in Hildesheim (fm, cable and livestream @ tonkuhle.de, my company web site funded by the Province of Ontario and administered by the Grenville CFDCs is @ abroadcom.net.

I cater to the creative professional regarding their marketing, artwork, message and functionality and - last, but not least - the legal context of their internet presence and distribution of music. I promote all music formations and groups towards the press and the public in my role as one of their singers, design your web site and business card, I shoot video, or audio only of/for your show/presentation, digitize it, edit, upload to YouTube and even host it for you on the internet or embed it on your web site like I did with this one:



I started digital editing when public broadcasters in Germany let go a lot of their technical staff during the nineties, studio time was a hard time to come by then. With the help of a lot of radio people I got so good at it, that the same radio stations who had gotten rid of their tecs hired me as technical support to help out with external set ups, such as big labour congresses and provincial and federal elections.

While freelancing for public radio and special interest print, I conducted video surveys for the marketing department of an energy supplier, bashed the unsustainable EXPO-built in urban calendar publications and sat in on solar competition juries...

During my three years in Montreal I toured shopping malls for the Infield Marketing Group and conducted phone surveys about IT equipment in small, medium and large sized enterprises across North America.

As a student I used to promote and sell IT and language books and software for the German publisher SYSTHEMA during CeBit, the world's largest computer fair in Hannover.

Working with my voice and ears, feeling the other end of the connection out has always been a central part of my professional tasks and it continues to fascinate and stimulate me!
